In February 2020, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that the country’s upcoming annual defense and security review will be the largest review of the country’s foreign, defense, security and development policy since the end of the Cold War. This publication contends that such an extensive and timely review is likely to have implications for many aspects of UK foreign and domestic policy. Remote warfare is no exception. In response, the text’s author addresses how the review process can take into account lessons learned about how the UK’s use of remote warfare can present challenges to peace and stability in the places in which it intervenes.
