The first annual Baltic Conference on Defence 2006 covered conceptual and practical issues of defense reform and military transformation. It spanned three sessions: transformation of NATO; the meaning of transformation, its perils and the challenge of transforming the mindsets of the security and defense communities; and a review of various national perspectives toward the NATO summit in Riga, Latvia. The document presents several articles from the above-mentioned sessions.
