This paper analyzes the development of peace and security structures in Africa. The author examines how external actors have supported the revised peace processes and security structures throughout the continent. The paper states that while many of the updated initiatives in Africa must be seen as positive, there are still a number of structural deficits that must be overcome to implement a truly effective peace and security architecture.
