This paper discusses the structural problems of the UN system and analyzes the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council as well as other UN funds and programs. It lists several factors that indicate UN reform is likely in the future. Furthermore, it addresses the core issues of global politics that should be taken into account. In the last part of the paper, the author focuses on the role of Germany in the UN.
