This paper discusses the expectations and outcome of the UN Millennium + 5 Summit. It gives an overview of the decisions taken and goals that were defined at the summit, as well as what was not achieved during the meeting. In the second part, the paper drafts an outlook for the next steps that will be taken by member states and UN organs. The authors state that the anchor countries play an important role in setting a new course for world politics and examine German and European responsibility in the process of global transformation.
