This paper focuses on China and India slipping into the role of significant actors for global governance and the change in the basic patterns of world politics and world economy this provokes. Then it discusses the challenges for Europe this development creates, in particular, topics such as socioeconomic pressures, global governance, regional instability, natural resources and energy sustainability, and the necessary development of a forward-looking China and India strategy.
