This study addresses Thailand's national innovation system (NIS) and argues that this system is not yet sufficiently developed because the number of innovative firms is low and many organizational capabilities necessary for innovation are lacking. Another reason for the system's weakness discussed by the authors is the limited quantity and quality of inter-firm and industry-science relationships. The study looks at different areas of innovation policy. The report discusses the relevance of several policy areas, describes the current status in Thailand and gives policy recommendations based on successful international experiences.
