This publication examines the socio-political impact of development cooperation in Tanzania. The authors assess the impact by analyzing two German development cooperation projects in Tanzania. The paper addresses issues such as conflict prevention and peace-building in development cooperation, factors causing socio-political tensions and areas of activity for development cooperation. The last parts of the paper contain the research approach and the Tanzanian case study.
