This paper analyzes the potential of nuclear energy as a "safe energy", both from the perspective of global warming and international security. The authors state that nuclear power remains technologically dangerous and is not suited to help substantially reduce CO2 levels and global warming. The paper concludes that one of the worst ideas, circulating in many corners of the international discussion, is the call for an expansion of nuclear power as a means of climate protection.
