The six articles in this AJCR issue focus on: 1) the drivers fueling the ‘ethnification’ of electoral conflict in Kenya; 2) ethnic conflict in Ethiopia and how the country’s federal system could be contributing to its occurrence; 3) the state’s role in the manipulation and management of ethno-religious relations in Nigeria; 4) peacebuilding facilitation efforts through education programs in South African primary schools; 5) whether or not the quest for happiness is an underlying motive for violent conflict in Africa; and 6) Japan’s international peace operations in South Sudan.
