This study looks at the Slovak National Property Fund (NPF), which has been the key element of the privatization process in Slovakia. The NPF is a temporary legal entity intended to ease the transition from a government-owned to a market economy. The author considers the Slovak NPF as a successful model for large-scale privatization and analyzes it in detail so as to identify the factors of its success.
