This paper discusses the genocide in Rwanda and the Great Lakes area of Africa. The author examines the circumstances and influences which lead to the genocide and looks at the issue of responsibility. The paper looks at the impact of the genocide for the future stability in the region and its prevention, ethnic conflict and human violations in Africa.
