This paper looks at the development of Hamas following its victory in the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) elections in January 2006. It discusses the frictions between Hamas and Fatah, examines intra-organizational discord within Hamas and comments on its course after the elections. Subsequently, the author explores options for how to address Hamas, focusing on Israel and the international community.
