This report deals with the documentation and recording of every victim of violent conflict. It is based on a presentation given by the author at a conference. He argues that there is a moral duty to identify and document every single human being that died in violent conflict. This holds for the victims of terrorist attacks in western countries and for the victims of wars such as in Iraq or Afghanistan. The author uses the example of the documentary list of every person killed in the Bosnian War to show that it is possible to fulfill this moral imperative.
