The authors of this text explore the relationship between Yemen’s multiple conflicts and the West's preferred ‘remote control’ approach to war, which features the use of Special Forces, mercenaries and armed drones. They also 1) highlight the risks of Western states training and arming regional protagonists such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and 2) ponder where accountability lies, particularly when it comes to using armed drones in a country where constitutional controls have collapsed.
