This paper highlights how statements and actions by the Trump administration suggest that it does not place a high priority on projecting American soft power in its conduct of foreign policy. While the text’s author also contends that proclamations regarding the demise of US soft power may be premature, he nevertheless suggests that the Trump administration’s apparent neglect of this form of power poses a risk to US interests and those of its allies.
