This brief deplores the lost momentum behind the global Development Effectiveness Agenda. According to the text’s author, the slowdown is attributable to 1) a preference for bilateral relations among governments, and 2) unclear implementation mandates. Additionally, the author highlights the problems the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation has confronted since its creation in 2012 and underlines the importance of distinguishing its role from that of the United Nations Development Cooperation Forum.
