This paper explores the role of timing in conflict mediation and concludes that there is no such thing as an unsuitable time to engage in the pursuit of peace, provided that 1) the mediation strategy being pursued is an appropriate one; 2) the strategy is indeed strategic in nature; and 3) the ‘timeless’ framework recommended by this text is at least considered.
