May 2020

This issue of Comparative Connections updates us on the trajectory of key bilateral relationships in East Asia, and between East Asian countries and the US, during the first third of 2020. As usual, the myriad articles 1) recount and analyze the economic, political and security developments that defined the time period covered, and 2) provide useful chronologies of bilaterally-centered events. The articles of this issue also address the implications of the coronavirus pandemic for bilateral relations in the Indo-Pacific.
