This publication is concerned with research methods to measure mass support for democracy. The authors examine democratic support beyond conventional binaries such as 'democratic' and 'authoritarian' citizenship. The report argues that popular attitudes in Latin America reveal a tendency toward illiberal rather than liberal democracy.
