This volume of papers examines several aspects of the overall picture behind the global numbers on research and development (R&D) for health investments. By looking at cases from various countries, the individual chapters present research on topics such as public funding of health research, financial flows for health research and development, using bibliometrics to inform cancer research policy and spending and donor funding priorities for communicable disease control in the developing world.
