This paper examines disaster management in Serbia. First, it gives a historical overview of civil protection including disaster experience and peacekeeping operations in Serbia. Further, it considers the cooperation between state institutions and the role of international organizations. The authors conclude with a discussion on building capacity for civil crisis planning in Serbia.
