2008

This publication addresses Palestinian Islamic charities, in particular the zakat committees. It contextualizes their religious and humanitarian aspects and reviews the argument that they are tools at the service of political parties. The article draws on personal observations, commissioned information-gathering and published research to argue for a more nuanced interpretation of their role within Palestinian society.
