This note reviews existing methods of cognitive enhancement along with likely developments, and considers the regulatory and ethical questions they pose. It cites a scientific review that concluded there would be significant improvements in understanding of this area over the next 20 years. This raises the possibility of otherwise healthy individuals using enhancers to boost their cognitive abilities.
