This note reviews the known origins and causes of Alzheimer's and dementia, and calls for reform of the UK's fiscal posture to meeting increasing demand for treatment and care. Alzheimer's and dementia affect 750,000 people in the UK. This number is predicted to rise to 1.8 million by 2051, placing significant strain on health and social services funding.
