Given the speed of information, the rise of social media and the advancements made in Artificial Intelligence (AI), how can address technological developments that threaten human security? This publication contends that one way forward could be to develop policies that consider the individual as the epicenter of the security challenges, including issues such as the governance and ethical use of AI. As a result, rather than territories, human beings need to be the core focus of the IT and security agenda going forward.
