This issue of the Canadian Military Journal (CMJ) addresses the transformation of Canadian air forces to deal with new operational demands, naval procurement and the accompanying political and public debate that surrounds the issue. It also discusses the defense establishment's response to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the history, development and need to integrate volunteer forces into the professional armed forces. Finally, this paper reviews the history and use of psychological operations in military situations before concluding with a chapter focusing on Exercise Maple Flag.
