This AJCR issue focuses on the ethnic and ethical dimensions of leadership and how they’re linked to initiating and resolving conflict. In service to this theme, the individual articles focus on 1) Kenya’s experiences with democratic institutional reforms as part of its peace and reconciliation efforts; 2) the potential for social reintegration and lasting peace in the Niger Delta, particularly under the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP); 3) the quest for effective leadership in the fight against violent conflict in Africa; 4) the relationship between religion, ethnicity and violence in Nigeria; and 5) the consequences of civil society’s involvement in the Congo’s post-conflict transition and peace processes.
