Christina Hartmann works as a senior researcher at the Consumer Behavior group at ETH Zurich, Switzerland.

She studied nutritional science at the Justus-Liebig University in Giessen (Germany). She moved to Switzerland in 2011 and worked as scientific assistant in the Consumer Behavior group at ETH Zurich, where she received her PhD in 2014. Since then, she works as a researcher and lecturer in the Consumer Behavior group. In 2020 she acquired a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Leadership and Governance at Universities from the University of Zurich.

Her teaching responsibilities include supervising student theses and dissertations, as well as teaching at the master's level in Multivariate Statistics and Food and Consumer Behavior.

Her research is dedicated to consumer behavior and nutrition psychology with focus on perception and acceptance of new food sources, factors influencing food preferences development and food choices. She has been an ad-hoc reviewer for more than 20 journals, and she is an advisory editor for the scientific journal Appetite. In 2021, Christina Hartmann has been awarded with the Food Quality and Preference Award – Contributions by a researcher of the future.
