For many people in Switzerland, Wikipedia is the preferred source for research on scientific topics. Moreover, studies show that research results that appear on Wikipedia are cited more frequently in academic journals. It is therefore all the more important for researchers to contribute their knowledge in their fields of expertise and to participate in creating and updating articles.

In 90 minutes, the course covers the following topics:

  • Why it’s useful for researchers to share their knowledge on Wikipedia.
  • How do I create, edit and update articles on Wikipedia and what do I need to keep in mind in the process?

Course participants learn why Wikipedia is important for science and how they can create, edit and update Wikipedia articles related to their research.
