ETH Library is offering digital services and delivery of media to members of ETH Zurich during the closing period.

While the main issue concerning new staff from Switzerland is whether it is possible for them to complete the introduction process while working remotely from home, the hiring of staff from abroad is being hindered by legal obstacles to the recruitment process, namely restrictions on admission to the country imposed by the federal government.

Both researchers and society as a whole benefit from freely accessible research findings. Yet open access also has unforeseen consequences, as a panel discussion held at ETH Library last week in cooperation with PLOS and RSC demonstrated.
