The safety, security, health and environment (SSHE) staff unit offers fire safety training this year again. In the theoretical part, participants will be taught how to prevent fires from breaking out. In the practical part, the participants will learn how to behave in case of a fire. Each student will have the opportunity to fight a fire with a portable fire extinguisher and a fire blanket under expert guidance.

The course is free for all interested members of ETH. For some undergraduate students engaging in certain fields of study, participation is mandatory in the first semester. They will be informed by e-mail.

The courses will last just over one hour and will be carried out up to 16 October 2015. The participants can travel by public transport to the station "ETH Hönggerberg". From there, the course area can be reached by a short walk (about 10 minutes). There are no parking lots at the course site.

The course will take place outdoor and in all weather conditions. Therefore sturdy boots and waterproof clothing are essential.

If you are interested, please register on the website www.ethz.ch/safety under "Training and continuing education/Fire safety training”.
