Sustainable mobility: the new issue of ‘life’ magazine is out now
Mobility management at ETH Zurich comes in many forms. E-bikes, all-electric delivery trucks, and more direct links between the various locations and major train stations are making life easier for staff and students at ETH Zurich. The latest issue of ‘life’ magazine takes a look at the various facets of mobility management and current projects in this area.
Transport and mobility are key topics for the future of ETH Zurich’s Zentrum and Hönggerberg locations. Resource consumption has been carefully considered along with easy accessibility to buildings for staff and students. The mobility platform launched this year aims to help reduce the carbon footprint and energy consumption of ETH Zurich associated with mobility. ‘Life’ also explores the question of how to reduce the large proportion of the carbon footprint caused by people flying on business.
The current issue also includes an interview with Max Rossmannek, president of the newly formed Hönggerberg neighbourhood commission (HöNK). He talks to us about living on campus and his activities on the committee.
Also in this issue, Adrian Meier, Head of Security at the Safety, Security, Health and Environment department (SSHE), offers insight into the work of his team; operations staff member Florian Genucchi and the bat protection foundation explain how they’re managing the unusually large number of bats in the ETH Zurich main building; and Simona Meiler, snowboarder and student at ETH Zurich, talks about her preparations for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
