Masks compulsory on ETH Link from 6 July

This mask obligation is in line with the Federal Council’s decision to introduce a mask requirement on public transport. ETH is also responding to the observation that passengers cannot always keep their distance on the ETH Link service. It is recommended that masks should generally be worn when people cannot maintain the distancing rule.

“We hope that the rising infection figures don’t indicate a second wave,” says Ulrich Weidmann, Vice President for Infrastructure and head of the ETH COVID task force. “However, the Executive Board and the crisis team have already made preparations for this possibility and drawn up an action plan. If necessary, we will communicate further measures next week with the clear aim of managing a second wave without another lockdown.”
