Town hall on the latest COVID-19 measures
3150 ETH members followed the Executive Board's town hall on the new Master Plan live. If you missed the town hall you can now watch the recording.
The rapid spread of the corona virus has forced ETH Zurich to take measures that are of extreme consequence for campus life. The coming weeks or months are a great challenge for all of us – whether at work, during our studies or in our private lives.
With this in mind, the Executive Board invited all ETH members to a virtual town hall on 5 November. For the first time, all students also had the opportunity to participate in this format and to address their questions directly to the Executive Board.

ETH President Joël Mesot, Rector Sarah Springman, Ueli Weidmann, Vice President for Infrastructure and Head of the ETH Covid-19 Task Force, as well as Julia Dannath-Schuh, the new Vice President for Personnel Development and Leadership, highlighted the measures of the Master Plan and what they mean in introductory remarks. The Executive Board welcomed Martin Ackermann, head of the Swiss National COVID-19 Science Task Force, as a special guest, who described his view of the current situation and particularly pointed out the prevention paradox. This is the phenomenon whereby measures that work against the spread of the virus are retrospectively presented as excessive or unnecessary.
The entire Executive Board then responded to questions from ETH members, supported by heads of administrative departments. In the course of the one-hour town hall, around 120 questions were received, many of them on the current and future study situation.
