In light of the strong demand for last year’s courses, ETH Zurich’s Corporate Communications has once again extended its Communication Academy course programme for science communication. On top of our wide range of established courses, such as Basics of Science Communication, Writing for the Public and Science Communication for Social Media, we will be offering the following new courses in the Spring Semester:

  • Storytelling skills for science communication
  • Visualizing Science
  • Franxini Policy Boot Camp for Scientists: The role of science in Swiss politics (held in association with Benedikt Knüsel and Reatch)
  • Media training for professors with an international background
  • Science based policy consulting by an academic Think Tank

The course programme for the Spring 2023 Semester can be found here. Doctoral candidates, postdocs and professors can register for the courses from 23 January 2023. Pre-registration is not possible. Please register only if you really want to participate and read the registration conditions carefully.

Through the Communication Academy, ETH’s Corporate Communications aims to raise awareness among scientists of the great opportunities as well as the inherent risks of science communication and enable them to communicate their research in a comprehensible and compelling way to a non-scientific audience.

The courses offered by the Communication Academy are aimed at doctoral candidates, postdocs and professors. For the first time, most of them are also open to researchers from the four research institutes PSI, Empa, WSL and Eawag.

The courses offered by the Communication Academy are free of charge. No ECTS credits are awarded for them. However, anyone who completes one of the one or two-day workshops will receive a certificate of attendance.
