Christian Wolfrum has been a professor at the Institute of Food Nutrition and Health at ETH Zurich since 2017. Wolfrum studied chemistry in Münster. After receiving his doctorate, he worked for six years as a postdoctoral fellow at The Rockefeller University in New York. In 2008 he was appointed Assistant Professor for Obesity Research at ETH Zurich. His research focuses on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying the altered adipocyte differentiation and maturation associated with obesity and other metabolic disorders. Christian Wolfrum received an ERC Starting Grant in 2008 and the Rössler Prize in 2014.
