What does the future of continuing education look like? The continuing education forum 2024 on April 23 will focus on perspectives and outlooks.

The ETH Zurich continuing education forum takes place once a year and focuses on a different topic each time. This year's event will focus on nothing less than the future of continuing education.

On the afternoon of April 23, experts will speak about Future Skills (Ulf-Daniel Ehlers, Professor at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University) and Lifelong Learning (Jeannine Pilloud, ETH Alumni President). We will also be discussing the following questions in two panels:

  • Where is the lifelong learning journey heading?
  • What are future skills, i.e. the key competencies of the future?
  • What role does ETH continuing education play in society?
  • What makes ETH continuing education special?

This year's continuing education forum will take place on April 23 from 1:30 to 5 p.m. in the Audi Max (ETH main building). Register by April 14. Participation is free of charge. The event will be held in German.

The ETH Zurich continuing education forum is intended for all ETH Zurich teaching faculty, particularly for those who are already engaged in continuing education at the institution or who are interested in offering a continuing education programme or course.

ETH President Joël Mesot will welcome the participants and Rector Günther Dissertori will give the closing address. The hosts are the Vice rector for Continuing Education, Stefano Brusoni, and the Head of the School for Continuing Education, Lukas Sigrist.

Let Bachelor’s holders work first!

Have you done any further professional training in the last five years? If not, then one reason is probably the education system and its rigid qualifications, says Lukas Sigrist, head of the offices of the ETH School for Continuing Education, in his most recent blog post.
