The future of energy: a look at Energy Week @ ETH 2024

With a varied programme and a public exhibition in the ETH main hall, this year's Energy Week from 4 to 8 November will not only highlight the challenges of the energy transition, but also present possible solutions.

Energy Week Key Visual

The Energy Week @ ETH 2024 is taking place for the eighth time at ETH Zurich from 4 to 8 November. It will shed light on questions such as: What actually is energy and what is electricity? What are the effects of climate change on the energy infrastructure? What role will artificial intelligence play in the future energy supply and how will the electricity market of the future work?

The multi-day event with a symposium, focus dialogues and specialist conferences enables an exchange between science, industry and politics. At the same time, the Energy Week also offers the general public the opportunity to find out more about the topic of energy and to take a critical look at it. As the organiser, the ETH Energy Science Center thus fulfils its role as a mediator and knowledge provider and offers a platform for all those who want to engage with the future of energy in Switzerland and beyond.

Discover energy transition and Switzerland in an exhibition

The centrepiece of the Energy Week is the public exhibition on the topic of the energy transition. The aim of the exhibition is to raise important questions in the context of Switzerland's future energy supply and provide scientific answers. How can we become less dependent on foreign countries for our energy supply? Do we even have to? Which energy sources will we rely on in the future? Do we have enough electricity to electrify our cars and heating systems in line with the energy transition?

The exhibition is open to the public from Tuesday, 5 November to Sunday, 10 November during the regular opening hours of the ETH Main Building.
