If you want to reach a younger, non-scientific audience, you can't get around videos these days. Participants learn how to create their own science video, from the idea to the final edit.

Day 1 covers the basics:

  • Storytelling: how to turn your scientific topic into a journalistic story
  • Screenwriting and Storyboarding
  • How to produce videos for social media? With Nicole Davidson
  • Participants are giving the opportunity to film their own videos during the two weeks between the first part and the second part.
  • Visit of ETH’s film studio

On Day 2, participants practice what they have learned:

  • Camera, lighting and audio (material will be provided by the trainer and the multimedia of the ETH)
  • Film editing (using Premiere Pro Software)

Participants learn how to create their own science video, from the idea to the final edit.

  • Do you already have some filming material from your field / lab work (even if it is not professional)?
  • Do you have ideas for a short video that you want to film during class?
  • How would you apply what you learn in the workshop?

We will allocate 20 places to the applicants with the most convincing letters of motivation.
