  • What is the purpose of citations and paraphrases? What are the risks when quoting and how can they be avoided?
  • How are citations and the bibliography connected?
  • Why is it important to lay the foundations for correct citation as early as the reading stage?
  • How does correctly integrating of quotations and paraphrases into the text help to guide the reader?

At the end of the course, you

  • will be able to distinguish between the types of plagiarism and know how to avoid them through correct citation and paraphrasing, and
  • will be aware that there are different citation styles and subject conventions and know where to find the relevant information,
  • you know how plagiarism detection software works and know how to interpret the result of the software and are aware of the steps of post-processing that need to be undertaken.
