This paper features a collection of journal articles, translated into English, which look at the scientific research, containment and elimination methods of dangerous diseases in the Soviet Union between 1930 and 1960. There are also snippets of other experiences involving the secret police, tribes with unique customs, and oddities brought about by Stalinist-era xenophobia.
