This paper addresses the militarization of space and priorities in the field of future space activity. The paper examines background issues of defense in space, weighs alternative approaches to space security and looks at possible developments. The featured papers consider the goal of non-interference with satellites, enhanced mitigation of orbital debris as well as new initiatives on the weaponization and commercialization of space and on the further development of space law.
