Acter AG

Acter AG developed authentication and biometric identification solutions for access to both virtual entities (e.g. computer systems) and physical facilities (e.g. offices, vaults). It's product portfolio included fingerprint access products and password generation products. In 2007 Glutz AG acquired Acter for an undisclosed amount. By combining Glutz's expertise in mechatronic and Acter's expertise in biometry, Glutz intended to strengthen its competence as a provider of security solutions and identification technologies. After the acquisition Acter was dissolved and the operations moved from Zurich to Solothurn, where it still remained as of 2017.
