Previous work experience, education and memberships

Hannah joined ETH Zurich as Legal Counsel in April 2011. She has worked for the Technology Transfer Offices of the Universities of Freiburg (Germany) and Basel before joining ETH transfer.

Hannah holds a degree in Law from the University of Heidelberg and is a member of the German attorney's bar association. She received further education and professional training during her training-period for becoming an Attorney-at-Law at various law firms in Dusseldorf, Germany, all specialized in intellectual property law. She also passed an internship at the European Patent Office in Munich, Germany, Directorate General 5.2.5 Legal/International Affairs (PCT) and was trained at the Technology Transfer Office of the University of Dusseldorf, Germany.

In addition, she earned a Master in Advanced Studies in Intellectual Property (MAS IP) from ETH Zurich in 2003. This program provided Hannah with the sound understanding of the activities occurring at the interface of Research and intellectual property involving patentability clearance, patent filing strategies as well as defining suitable overall IP strategies that conform with the specific business fields of a company.

Hannah has been heading the team within the Research Contracts Group, which focuses on research contracts in the area of Swiss and International Programs since January of 2023.

Hannah is a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP) with ATTP (Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals) and is a member of swiTT (Swiss Technology Transfer Association).
