Previous work experience
Stefan studied mechanical engineering at the RWTH Aachen University. He worked as research assistant at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) in the field of gear manufacturing technologies. After obtaining his Ph.D. in 1997 he worked 11 years in a Swiss company (production and distribution of cutting tools) as head of product development and custom tools department, from 2004 to 2009 Stefan was a member of the board.
In 2008 he obtained an "Executive MBA for Technology Managers"-degree from RWTH Aachen University and University of St. Gallen (HSG).
Stefan joined ETH transfer in September 2009 as Technology and Licensing Manager and is member of the board of swiTT (Swiss Technology Transfer Association) since 2017 and member of ASTP (Association of European Science & Technology Transfer Professionals).
