Re-entry Bachelor

Students who have withdrawn from or been dematriculated by ETH may under certain conditions rematriculate in an ETH Bachelor’s degree programme.

A differentiation is made between the following types of re-entry:

  • After withdrawing from ETH without a degree - and without having been excluded from your degree programme - you wish to re-enter the same ETH Bachelor’s degree programme.
  • After withdrawing from ETH Zurich - with or without a degree - you wish to enter a different ETH Bachelor’s degree programme.
  • After obtaining an ETH Bachelor’s or Master’s degree you wish to start a different ETH Bachelor’s degree programme (second undergraduate degree) immediately, without withdrawing from ETH Zurich.

Prerequisites

Apply for the first semester of the Bachelor’s degree programme using the online application form.

Application for the Spring Semester

The online application form only offers the Autumn Semester for commencement of studies. Please make a note in the field "Mitteilung an Fachstelle" that you would like to apply for re-entry in the spring semester.

As soon as your application has been received and checked, you will be informed in writing.

There is no general entitlement to admission to the 1st year of study in the spring semester.

Registration for the Bachelor’s degree programme in Human Medicine

Entry to the Bachelor’s degree programme in Human Medicine is only possible if a study place has been allocated to ETH Zurich for the respective Autumn Semester. This is because the number of places is limited, and they are allocated centrally via swissuniversities after students sit the Eignungstest für das Medizinstudium (EMS; medical studies qualifying examination).

A fee of CHF 50.00 will be charged.

If a late application is possible, the additional late fee amounts to CHF 200.00.

Unless you paid by credit card, you must submit proof of payment. See the last page of the application form for information on how to pay.

You will receive the invoice in the 5th week of the semester or later.
