Master Mechanical Engineering
Students on the Master’s degree programme deepen their knowledge of the core areas of mechanical engineering. These include mechanics, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics, materials, operations and production engineering, control engineering and product development. The fundamental disciplines of mathematics, computer science, physics, and chemistry are integrated into these subject areas.
This interdisciplinary approach is particularly important in fields such as robotics, micro- and nanotechnology, aerospace engineering, production and energy systems, as well as biomedical engineering. Students develop and apply a wide range of methods and tools – from computer simulations and system model ling to modern experimental techniques. In doing so, they gain a deeper understanding of fundamental phenomena, processes and systems.
Engineers develop products and systems that have a significant impact on society, the economy and the environment. The programme therefore also considers the social and economic context in which mechanical engineering operates. Courses in economics, organisation and management, as well as in political science and the humanities, complement the technical education and foster a broader, holistic perspective.
