Master Robotics, Systems and Control
Research and development in robotics, systems science and control are inherently interdisciplinary. They combine methods and tools from engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, and also biology. This broad academic foundation enables students to analyse and develop complex integrated systems and innovative products, and to devise new approaches to solving challenging problems.
The Master’s degree programme is built around a core of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science. Depending on their individual focus, students can also choose courses in mathematics, biology, physics and computational science. Further opportunities for specialisation are offered through courses in product development, as well as technology and innovation management. Elective courses in the humanities, social and political sciences broaden the programme’s academic scope.
Graduates with interdisciplinary expertise across a range of engineering disciplines are in high demand in the high-tech industry worldwide. Developing intelligent robots and systems requires a broad spectrum of expertise and raises fundamental questions concerning the design, physical modelling and control of complex, highly interactive systems. Perception also plays a central role: intelligent systems must be able to perceive and analyse their environment, interpret information and derive appropriate actions in order to achieve predefined goals.
