Qualification Profile (QP) is a crucial (legal) document that aligns ETH’s goals with the structure of degree programmes and their course designs. It defines the subject-specific, methodological, social and personal competences that graduates of a degree programme will have acquired by the end of their studies.

The Qualification Profile may be a one-page document, but it informs the structure of the whole degree programme. Writing it can take time and conversations that are attentive to detail, structured, and thoughtful.

   This directive, ratified by the Rectorate ETH, regulates processes of curriculum developments that result in changes to the study regulations. It describes the role of the Vice-rector for Curriculum Development, the Education Legislation team, and the UTL Curriculum Development team.
